Going Private?
There
are many risks associated with going it alone, but the benefits can be
terrific.
In brief: The
Downside
- Your
safety -
is more at risk if you are working alone. Even if you think it's ok
because you're only working during the day, think again! No matter how
well you think you can look after yourself against an aggressive or
violent man, why would you want to put yourself in a position where you
have to fight in the first place?
Some advice - team up with
another girl (or
boy) and watch each others back.
- Where
to work
- ideally you DON'T want to be working from your own home. It is
important for your sanity to keep your home and work life separate. If
you check out apartment rentals I'm sure you'll find a place to rent
that is suitable for working out of, and if you've teamed up with
another worker, the costs will be halved. Another option is
to
rent motel rooms for only the days you're working, if you're only
planning to be working 1 or 2 days a week.
- Advertising

going it alone also means you'll have to take care of gaining your own
clientele. Depending on your preferred method, this can seem a little
expensive, but remember, if you're looking to entertain quality
clientele, you won't attract them with a cheap two line ad! The
Internet has opened up a whole realm of opportunities for you
to
advertise free of charge, and in my experience can work really well.

- Managing
Your Workspace
- when you're working in a parlour, most things are taken care of
for you, such as: answering calls from clientele, ensuring
that
there are enough condoms, lubes, tissues, oils, powders, towels,
sheets, coffee, tea, sugar....and the list goes on. If your working
private you will need to make sure that you are always prepared for
bookings when you get them.
- Income
Instability - Private work isn't as regular as going to a
parlour for definate shifts, and neither is your income. If you want
the jobs, sometimes
you'll have to alter your preferred times, especially if your best
clients can only make it at short notice. At
certain times of the year, you'll also notice a decline in calls. The
slowest times for me have always been over the Christmas period, as
people like to go away for the holidays, spend time with their families
etc. This has always been great for me, because I have a family too,
and constant work through the holiday period would have caused huge
headaches. But if you've just started out and need to make money right
away, that kind of situation can be very very frustrating.
- Your Mighty Local Council
- is not as mighty as it might seem. Yes, of course there are
regulations to follow, but if you set yourself up correctly, you'll
fall under their radar...... :) if
